The Boys and Girls Club enables children of Westminster to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens by providing them with healthy and supervised afterschool programs and activities. These programs would not be possible without generous donations from people who understand the importance of positive child development.
If you would like to help us shape and impact the youth of Westminster, you can make a donation by clicking the “donate” button on the right-hand panel that appears on every page of our website. Every donation, no matter how large or small, directly supports Club members and is greatly appreciated. Below are specific sponsorships opportunities, which the Boys and Girls Club of Westminster is in need of funding support.
Field Trips: Each year we take the kids on 9 different field trips. Each trip with buses and admission prices cost us $1,000
Clothing: We like to give each child a hoodie for warmth. We provide each Club member a hoodie and a t-shirt at a total cost of $2,000. A donation of $30 covers the cost of a hoodie for one member.
Youth of the Year Celebration: Each year, the Boys and Girls Club of Westminster holds a special event at the Carroll Arts Center for its Club members to celebrate their academic progress. The cost to hold this event is $2,500, which provides food and awards for the children.
Sponsor a child’s membership: In order to make the Club accessible to all children, we charge only $20 for a one-year membership. The actual cost to the Club is $1,125 (to pay for staff, all materials and supplies for the programs, and much more). This equates to $1.56 per hour for each child.
Sponsor a child for Summer Camp: We are in need of scholarship sponsors for children who are currently in homeless shelters, from low-income single parent families, and families who have no income due to job layoffs. Summer Camp runs for 9 weeks from June until August and costs $100 a week per child. Many families cannot afford to have their children come to camp, and the kids are out on the street or alone throughout the summer. Your generous donation of $900 would sponsor a child for an entire summer of fun, intellectual camp activities.
